The Missile Man of India, Dr. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam was born 84 years ago on October 15, 1931. He was a scientist by profession who was later known as the 11th President of India.
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam played a vital role in India's Pokran-II nuclear tests in 1998 and he was involved in India's space programmes and military missile development efforts. The late former President took an interest in well-being of the country in the field of science and technology, during his tenure of his Presidency and Post-Presidency.
